Less than three days to go

Is anyone still reading this rubbish?
The weather down here is getting better on the whole: warmer certainly, and drier. I did a circular around Issigeac today of 40 km and it didn't rain at all. Wind was light to moderate and from the NW. It rained later in the evening but only for a few minutes, and not hard. While out, I saw a hoopoe and a jay, and heard a few cuckoos and some croaking frogs.
The other day a ferret ran across the road in front of our car, with a mouse in its mouth. I took this to be a good omen: we shall seize the French greenway system by its throat and arrive at the end of our ride triumphant!

  1. Yes, we are still reading it. If the wind stays from the northern quarter it will be helpful and a temperaure of 17 to 18 sounds about ideal. There was another Eurostar scare this morning when Eurotunnel closed the tunnel after a fire alarm had activated. No fault found, of course, and things were due to be restored later today.I shall check tomorrow.

  7. Dry all this morning, with a bit of sun. Temperature of 17 C after lunch. I rode into the village this morning on my rubbish supermarket-bought Mercier VTT to buy some provisions. Issigeac market was in full swing. I shall be signing off soon, before travelling first to Grignols, to take the train tomorrow morning at Caen. See you all soon!
