Details of rides organised by Derbyshire Sustrans Rangers. On previous rides we visited Ireland (North and South) in 2011, the outer Hebrides in 2013, Northumberland in 2015, Holland in 2016 and France in all the other years since 2010. Last year (2018) we went to the Isle of Man and this current year (2019) we head for Scotland
If the morning boat fails to sail we ought to rearrange for the evening sailing after enjoying a day visiting the sights! of Liverpool. Meet up at the steam packet company office if the decision is no sail. Please keep all informed of your plans. Congrats to Ian for picking the right route and sailing this time seems like you might be there before us all now.
ReplyDeleteJoy oh joy. I'm not the best sailor so, whilst I might reach IoM before you, I could then be spending a few hours recovering before being able to cycle across the island!
ReplyDeleteSee you soon,
will try and book evening crossing as wind is due to die down by then. Phone lines will be bust this morning I am sure, possible met up at Titanic memorial near to terminal might be appropriate around 11am for beatles tour of the city!
ReplyDelete11.15 sailing.from Liverpool cancelled. On my way due South Parkway 07.59. Will ask at 8.30 if “alternative arrangements” include transfer to 14.30 sailing from Heysham.
ReplyDeleteHave booked online at 6.30am for the 7.15pm sailing this evening from liverpool. For those with access to the internet it is certainly easier than telephoning. Login then rearrange, the site confirms there is no charge for changing the booking. Easy peasy
ReplyDeleteMartin only issue with later ferry is that will arrive 10pm so need lights check. you can check online whether you can change to Heysham now as website is uptodate and active
ReplyDeleteOn Glasgow train to Lancaster due 08.50. Rebooked on 14.15 ferry from Heysham (took 3 trains to find user friendly WiFi). Thanks Shawn.
ReplyDeleteThat should be 08.29 into Lancaster, if the wires have not been blown down)
DeleteIan, I assume you will use the former Lancashire & Yorkshire route from Lancaster, NCN 69, rather than the replacement bus service to Heysham. I will hang around the seafront for a couple of hours, somewhere between The Eric Morecambe monument and Heysham.
ReplyDeleteI am booked on the Heysham boat. Should arrive Lancaster at about 11.15 and will ride from there via the old railway line to Morecambe.
ReplyDeleteArrival at Lancaster now uncertain. Don't wait for me.
ReplyDeleteShould arrive Lancaster around midday and will catch rail replacement bus from there.arrives at 13.27.
ReplyDeleteGood choice. Took me nearly an hour to cycle the 3 miles from Morecambe to the Ferry Terminal
DeleteOnce I initially commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now every time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment. Is there any method you possibly can remove me from that service? Thanks! online casino gambling
