It seems that our best options for supermarkets are:-
a. Tesco in Douglas (the only Tesco on the island).
b. Shopright in Peel (only a couple of miles from the bunkhouse).
There may be others, but these would serve our immediate requirements on arrival until we get to know our surroundings.

Thanks Les. Did you see me note about each of us bringing 2 or 3 basic dry provisions for the group? I will make up a list which I will circulate by email 2/3 weeks before the trip
ReplyDeleteFurther to various blog posts and comments I offer a few further thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAs Shawn has said, it is possible to conjure up a wide range of meals in a microwave (scrambled eggs and bacon come to mind, as do baked potatoes, soup, stews or anything from a tin) but we may be limited by the range of cookware at our disposal and we are unlikely to know that until we get there. Also, with 7 hungry cyclists to feed, we may have to cook and eat in 2 shifts.
There is a Farm Shop on site so, if it anything like Croots (say), we should be OK for most of our staple requirements.
Given the above, unless we can establish that there are take aways who will deliver, we may be eating out for several of our evening meals and we may consider eating on our way back at the end of our days journey rather than getting back and then having to go out again. I admit to preferring to eat in the early evening to allow time for digestion before bed.
