France 2014 and some brief thoughts on 2015

The Loire a Velo was great, despite the odd hiccup on the way. Weather good, scenery superb with much use of off-road or little used public roads, accommodation comfortable (even at Possonniere), food mostly excellent and, of course, exemplary company. I also appreciated the accuracy of the navigation particularly through city streets.  
It may be a bit early to think of England 2015 (but I can't resist) and it occurred to me that there may be some value in finding an area unfamiliar to us, staying at one location and doing a number of circular rides. This has the advantages that, in inclement weather (wot!! In England?), we could cut short the ride or even take to the buses/trains, we could travel lighter and maybe there would be some economies of scale.
