Mark Beaumont fastest man around the world on a bicycle and recently completed the Americas End to End is currently touring the UK with his slide show(!) and anecdotes from his adventures. Anyone fancy a night at the Assembly rooms on the Friday before our trip let me know on the 12th April at our meeting at the Flowerpot.

I have watched some of the TV coverage of the latest trip down through the Americas. I found the "voice-over" irritating with its propensity to exaggerate the hardship and danger (although I do accept that there would have been both). I am considering going to the presentation and will confirm by 12/4
ReplyDeleteYes I aree with your comments also had had enough by the end thinks seemed a little anticlimactic and not as aweinspiring as should have been. Also a little to isolated in travelling such a route very little human contact which sure negates the point of travelling which is to met new people as well as spectacular views and places. Would like to hear some of the practical stuff of riding such large distancezs by bike, packing etc
